Entertainment & Shopping

Nicaraguans love their nightlife, and drinking and dancing are core parts of the culture.

Managua offers several nightclubs and bars, some with live music. Although many newer establishments cater to the younger, college-age to twenty-something crowd, there are still many that are preferred by the older population. Of course, people of all ages are welcome and enjoy themselves at every bar.

For shopping, two new malls were recently opened in Managua, offering western-style clothing and products.

Masaya boasts the largest tourist market in the country, where world-famous hammock are made and sold.

Other locally made products include gold- and silverwork, embroidery, shoes, and paintings.
